the food--that you do get--is GREAT! it's just disappointing that the menu is essentially outdated. i've been twice and each time there's been so many menu items not available (have only been during lunch hours, maybe dinner/late night is different?). emphasizing again though that the food is delicious! only go here if you are feeling patient :) ambiance is stellar, it's a spacious and well decorated, yet cozy location. great for watching televised events or catching up with friends. service is okay, how often you're checked on is very dependent on who you get. that said, they're all very polite! the seasoned servers were especially charismatic.
Wild Onion is a lively spot on Merrick Blvd. I began going there for their delicious seafood. I've gone back for the ambiance and party vibes especially during the warmer months. Service is always friendly. Definitely an asset to the area.

I live close by and always get take out but decided to dine in this time so I can enjoy it hot and fresh. The food was good but not better than the classics like the curry goat and stew chicken, I also think it might have been made with dairy not coconut milk. The bar was full so I sat at a table, ended up paying up front because the menu prices are a little different from how much they really coast but they let you know that as soon as you walk in. Definitely up and coming, so I'd definitely give it another shot.
